Stefan Jaschke's New York City Photos
Brooklyn Bridge
- This was done from a boat. The sun just disappeared behind
the Twin Towers. The first lights went on. The East River
is calm and shows the pleasing colors of the evening
sun. Isn't this romantic?
The
Skyline of Manhattan
- This is probably the most often showed view of Manhattan.
The World Trade
Center
- The twin towers on a misty day, but still majestic. (Shot
from Liberty Island with a 200mm lens.)
Lady Liberty
- ... on the same misty day
Columbia
University's Main Campus
- The `Low Steps' have ever been a place to hang out.
Central Park
- Central Park is one of the nicest things in Manhattan. There
you'll always see people jogging, roller skating, biking,
horse riding, and playing baseball. In the summer, it is a
great place to take a sun bath or share some time with the
family.
Spring in
Harlem
- When the masses of snow melted in March 1994, they left
masses of trash that had been discarded in the snow during
the winter. West 121 Street was one big trash can. (There
are better neighborhoods than this one in Manhattan.) A few
weeks later, I was dumb-founded when I saw
this. All the trees in the street blossomed. It was
like enchanted.
Time Square
- ... a bit busy at times.
Firework at
Veterans Day
- The firework was started from a ship in the East River. It
could be nicely watched from Pier 17. I did some free-hand
shots from within the cheering crowd. (I didn't expect them
to be sharp. Aperture 4, shutter speed 1/4 - 1/30s.)
"Paradise Island", Nassau, Bahamas, is a two hours flight from New York.
The Carribean Sea shows an unsurmounted wealth of underwater life. This can
be seen life and in observatories.
